Our client was in midst of a cloud trial in Azure and approached proSkale to conduct an independent audit prior to completing a full-scale migration. The audit uncovered the following:
- Lack of governing principles defined, and therefore no blueprint or management groups developed, prior to cloud implementation
- Cloud resources were deployed manually, without proper convention, making resource management difficult and time-consuming
- Like-for-like migration during trial did not factor in actual workload requirements or right-sizing of resources
- Deployment in Central Europe that included certain data that could have been subject to GDPR requirements
